1901 County Championship Medal returns home.

There was 19 players on the Dr Crokes (Killarney) side that won the 1901 County Football Final versus Laune Rangers (Killorglin) one of these players somehow had his medal leave him. Englishman Chris Cotter and his wife Evelyn from Hertfordshire were on holiday recently in South Africa and while visiting friends who have an antique business in Cape Town came across a medal which they thought might make a nice broche. However when Chris got home he decided to do a bit of research and maybe find where the medal came from. Chris Contacted the website and offered the Club the medal as a gift as he wanted the medal to return home. Dr Crokes GAA Club are deeply grateful to Chris and Evelyn for their generosity in giving the medal to us. This is a real treasure for the club and will proudly be displayed in the new clubhouse trophy cabinet. Now the next question who's medal is it? Can anyone shine light on who went or how the medal got to South Africa?
