50 years of the G. A. A.

Being to the forefront of G.A.A. action for 50 years we can look back with a certain amount of pride and satisfaction at our imput into the associations affairs. .The club had players and administrators of a high calibre who gave their time and talents and all of whom were easily recognised around the country.

But a  gaelic  football club is first of all local and we can be equally proud of the members who worked so hard through those years to keep us in the limelight around Killarney and East Kerry. They wore the Black and Amber on the playing fields , served as club officers, referees, umpires, keeping the score in case the ref of the day made a slip, and giving their houses or premises for club meetings or just for gatherings just to talk football. Of course they were also ready to help out in giving professional advise or working at whatever trade was needed at the time.

All of those that we remember here made a big contribution to the Dr Crokes  in those first 50 years and were also fully involved in the fundraising and development of the Dick Fitzgerald stadium project.
