Denso Hurley,[O: Connells Terrace]

Denso was the Dr Crokes Goalie during the 1920's and played on a number of occasions with Kerry. He was the kingdoms custodian during the historic game against the Ex- internees which historians tell us helped in a very big way to mend differences between rival factions during those troubled times in Kerry.

Denso won his Tailtean games medal as Goalie for Munster when they defeated Leinster in the games Final in 1924. His whole life was immersed in the Dr Croke club & the Gaa and as a Nurse in St Finians Hospital, (under RMS Dr Eamonn O'Sullivan) he supervised all the work done by the hospital patients during the Dick Fitzgerald stadium project in the 1930's which the Doctor said was of great therapeutic value to them. The Minister of local Government in a letter to the Hospital committee said he was pleased to learn that the work has had a beneficial effect on the health of the patients and that a number of cures had resulted therefrom.

Denso had the honour of being the Dr Croke club Patron for many years before his death , a position he held with dignity and of which he was very proud of. A man remembered by the club as a true Dr Croke Legend.
