Dr. Crokes
played their second round Division 2 league game at home
to Kilgarvan on Wednesday night. After a close opening
encounter Kilgarvan eventually ran out easy winners on a
score line of 3-13 to 0-12. Kilgarvan started well and
went in to an early three-point lead before Crokes came
back into the game with good scores by John Bergin and
Jim Kennedy. The halftime score was 0-08 to 0-05 in
favour of Kilgarvan. Crokes started the better in the
second half and closed the deficit to one point.
However, Crokes never really recovered from an easy
Killgarvan goal mid way through the second half. The
Crokes defence played well, in particular Gary Landers
and Cian O’Toole while in the forwards John Bergin and
Jim Kennedy did well. Crokes next game will be away to
Ardfert next week.
