Ladies

 Dr Crokes ladies won the Kenmare 7-a-side on Saturday and Sunday 26th and 27th of October.  There were teams from Kerry, Cork, Dublin, Meath and Wexford.  Dr.Crokes beat Gabriel Rangers of Cork in the final, in what was miserable conditions.  Patrice Dennehy also received player of the tournament for her outstanding display of skill.  The team included Marie Cahillane, Joanne Spillane, Grainne O'Malley(captain), Jennie Johnson, Mairead Finnegan, Teresa Cahillane, Patrice Dennehy, Carrie Spillane, Amanda Brosnan, Ciara O'Sullivan, Catherine Canty, Katie Warren.

Dr.Crokes ladies have yet to play the semi-final of the league against Abbeydorney.  There is no date fixed as yet because the Kerry Ladies are out on Sunday. There are a number of Crokes Ladies on the team so best of luck to them.

Speedy recovery also to Helena Falvey and Katie Gleeson who picked up injuries at the Munster club semi-final. 

Munster Junior Semi Final Dr Crokes 4-6 Cappawhite 2-15 20.10.02

Dr. Crokes Junior Ladies had a disappointing match on Sunday 20th.  They lost to Cappawhite (Tipperary) on a score line of 2-15 to 4-6, in miserable conditions.  Dr. Crokes did not play up to expectations and Cappawhite were the better team on the day.  Team included Ciara O'Sullivan, Grainne O'Malley, Catherine Canty, Joanne Spillane, Marie Cahillane, Deirdre Dennehy, Katie Worren, Katie Glesson, Mairead Finnegan, Teresa Cahillane, Catherine Kiely, Helena Falvey, Jennie Johnston, Patrice Dennehy, Amanda Brosnan. Subs were  Marlene O'Donoghue, Narissa O'Donoghue, Marian Lyne, Carrie Spillane.

Ladies are playing in the 7-a-side tournament in Kenmare Saturday and Sunday 26th and 27th October.

 

Dr Crokes 8-20 South Kerry 1-2

Dr. Crokes Ladies beat South Kerry 8-20 to 1-2 in the Junior A County Championship Saturday afternoon in what was a very one-sided affair.  Everyone on the team played exceptionally well, most notably Helena Falvey, Katie Warren and Laura Buckley.  However, there was only a handful of spectators at the match which was disappointing, considering the skills masterly executed throughout the match by the Dr. Crokes ladies (  moreso than the senior men).

Team included Marie Cahillane, Joanne Spillane, Catherine Canty, Grainne O'Malley, Teresa Cahillane, D.D. Dennehy, Katie Warren, Katie Gleeson (captain), Mairead Finnegan, Catherine Kiely, Catriona Crowley, Louise McCarthy, Laura Buckley, Patrice Dennehy, Helena Falvey.  Subs were Jenny Johnson, Narissa O'Donoghue, Marian Lyne, Amanda Brosan, Carrie Spillane, Altona Myers, Cathleen O'Neill, Ciara O'Sullivan.

Congratulations also to Grainne O'Malley who received a prestigious replacement All-Star, while playing with the Kerry Ladies this year.  It was very well deserved reward for Grainne.

Dr.Crokes Ladies are playing Cappawhite(Tipperary) on October 20th in the Munster Junior Semi-Finals of the Championship.

 

Dr. Crokes Women won The All-Ireland Junior Shield in a highly competitive tournament in Dublin on Saturday 28th September.  It was an outstanding performance from the team who played over 100 minutes of football without any substitutes as Jenny had to be taken to hospital midway through the first game. Pathway to the final included playing teams from Tipperary, Waterford, Dublin and Meath before beating South Kerry in the final.  It was a brilliant weekend agus chomhgairdeas leis an foireann.  Team included Patrice and DD Dennehy, Katie Gleeson, Grainne Mallay, Joanne Spillane, Jenny Johnston, Teresa and Marie Cahillane.
