Club Notes Week 10 2020   09/03/2020

SUNDAY last saw us begin 2020 co. league action with our 3 senior teams competing. Our A team traveled west to Dingle to play the locals despite short many regulars put up a very creditable performance going down on a scoreline 1-10 to 0-09.

Our B team traveled south to Caherciveen to play St. Marys and despite being a very experimental side lost out heavily 4-11 to 1-03. A final 10 minutes dominance by the home side saw them safely over the finish line.

Pride of place this week is our C team who lined out against local rivals Spa in Lewis Road. This game marked the return of veterans Colm Cooper & Eanna Kavanagh to competitive action.

In a highly entertaining game played on our home pitch we ran out winners  1-13 to 0-11. Colm Cooper opened the scoring in the opening minute  and Sean Courtney extended the lead in the 5th minute, Spa with 4 unanswered points Cooper & Kavanagh with their wily experience began to influence matters and a Oisin O'Connor goal left us leading at the break 1-06 to 0-06. On the resumption, Crokes extended the lead but our opponents were not going away and fought doggedly for every possession. Cooper who finished with a tally of 0-08 dictated proceedings ably assisted by substitutes Tom Doyle and Shane Lyne held on to get the points.

Next weekends fixtures see our A team game v Beaufort postponed to a later date at our opponent's request B team travel to Glenbeigh on Sunday for a 2pm start and at the time of writing the C team will play Laune Rangers on Friday 13th with a 5.30 pm start.
