30/04/08 CO. HURLING LEAGUE DIV. 2 Dr. Crokes 0-5 Ladies Walk 2-5 Playing at home on Wed 23rd April, Dr. Crokes lost their first round county league game to Ladies Walk The game as a spectacle was ruined due to incessant rain and both sides agreed to 25 minutes each half due to bad light. It was difficult for both sides to produce good hurling in such poor conditions The score line was not a fair reflection of Crokes performance as they certainly had more of the play but did not fully capitalise on their possession when playing with the wind in the first half when they trailed 0-3 to 1-2. Ladies Walk took their chances in that second half but Crokes battled well and had chances approaching the end of the game when behind by 3 points. After a mix up in the Crokes defence Ladies Walk were handed another goal right at the death. With conditions so poor, it was hard to make any judgement on team and players performances. Our next match is on Wed 30th April away to Kenmare. Anyone interested in playing hurling with Crokes should contact John Lenihan 087 6534444, Gene Doherty 086 1720789 or Tim Hourigan 086 3686450. Training continues at 8.00pm sharp on Monday and Friday nights at Dr. Crokes pitch Lewis Road. CO. JUNIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE commences this Friday May 2. We begin with a home game v Strand Road. MINOR CO. LEAGUE S/FINAL Dr. Crokes v Dingle on this Thursday May 1 at a venue to be arranged. BEST WISHES to the Kerry U21`s and Michael Moloney, Kieran O’Leary, Brian Looney Johnny Buckley, and Jamie Doolan in the all Ireland final this weekend. COISTE NA OG Feile Q/f Dr Crokes 7-9 Austin Stacks 5-7 Extra time was required to separate the two teams in the quarterfinal of the Feile held at Lewis road on Wednesday night. Conditions were poor with a strong wind and heavy rain but this did not stop both teams serving up an entertaining and open game of football. Crokes were slow to settle and found themselves 3 points in arrears after 10 minutes. Niall O Riordan began to make good use of possession at centre forward that opened up the play for the full forward line allowing Tony Brosnan and Will Horan to score goals just before half time. This left the score 2-1 to 0-4 in favour of Crokes. Both teams raised their games and scores were coming thick and fast at either end. Crokes were winning the midfield battle that allowed them to build up a 6-point lead with time almost up however a lapse in concentration by the Crokes backs let Stacks in for two goals to level the match at 4-6 apiece and send the game into extra time. Stacks should have had the initiative but the Crokes lads came out with renewed determination, played the better football and ran out deserving winners on a score line of 7-9 to 5-7. Crokes had their best performers in Johnny Courtney, Aodhan Burns, Gearoid Coughlan, Ryan O Connor, Niall O Riordan and Tony Brosnan.Team : M. Willis, M. Ryan, J. Courtney, E. O` Connor, J. Lyne, A. Ashe, K. Flynn. U14 B Dr. Crokes B 5-10 Listowel B 1-8This victory for Dr. Crokes was not as easily achieved as the score line suggests. The two teams were evenly matched for most of the game but three goals scored by Jason Brennan of Crokes in a 5 minute spell of the second half accounts for the one sided score line. Exchanges were tight in the first half with the Listowel full back line turning in a great performance. At half time, the Crokes lead by a goal on a score of 1-4 to 0-4. The Crokes upped the pace on the resumption and made good use of possession. Gary Murphy, Michael Sheehan, Dylan Sheehan, Niall O'Connor, Jeremiah Fitzgerald and Jason Brennan turned in great performances. The Crokes pulled away towards the end of the game but Listowel never gave up and had their best performers in Darragh Broderick, Brian O'Donnell and Rici Hanley. Team: R.Clifford, D.Brosnan, G.Murphy, M.Casey, K.Regan(0-1),M.Sheahan(0-1), D.Sheehan(0-1), C.Murphy(0-1), K.Flynn(0-1), M.Burns(0-1), N.O'Connor, J.Fitzgerald(1-0).J.O'Leary(0-1),J .Brennan(4-1), S.Hurley(0-2) Dr Crokes B 5-4 Laune Rangers B 5-8 Laune Rangers deservedly picked up the two points on offer at Lewis road last Wednesday. Hopes were high in the Crokes team having won their two previous outings but a physically stronger Laune Rangers outfit were just too good on the night. Jason Brennan scored three goals and was always a threat in around the square. Jeremiah Fitzgerald worked tirelessly and scored two goals. Best on the night were Gary Murphy, Conor Murphy, Jeremiah Fitzgearld, Jason Brennan, Jason O Sullivan and Michael Sheahan.Team : R. Clifford, M. Casey, G. Murphy, D. Brosnan, D. Sheehan, M. Sheahan, K. Regan, K. Flynn, C. Murphy, J. Fitzgerald, N. O` Connor, J. O` Sullivan, S. Hurley, J. Brennan, J. O` Leary. U14 Hurling Our first game in the County League was an away fixture to Laune Rangers on 22/04/04This was a close and keenly fought game with good crisp hurling from both sides played in a very sporting manner. We played without a few of our "older” players who were unavailable, however our young guns were not found wanting. Crokes started well and after some pressure, Aodhan Burns pointed a free. There was some end to end hurling before Rangers got a few points. However, Cian O'Lionard showed great skill and determination to slot home an inspiring goal after a long solo run. Micéal Burns showed great skill in goals and made a few timely clearances. The defence was tight and with Gearoid Coughlan Aaron Murphy and Gavin White in fine form, the scores were scarce. We lead by a point a half time. In the second half Rangers got, a tonic start with an early goal however, points from Cian O'Lionard and John Ivory steadied the nerves. The defence were heroic at times and Michael Casey and Denis Fleming showed skill beyond their years. In midfield, Caolan O'Donoghue did lots of valuable work. A further goal by Rangers forced us to dig deep and after some good work outfield by Cian O'Lionard Jack Murphy Ivan Hurley and Jack Lenihan the tide turned. Chris Doncel bagged a hat trick after some good interplay with both Cian O'Lionard and John Ivory. One of his goals was gem and finally both Cian O'Lionard and John Ivory added a point each. Crokes won by 5 points and now look forward to a home game against Ballyheigue. Team: - M Burns, A Murphy, G Coughlan, D Fleming, M Casey, G White, C O'Donoghue, C O'Lionard (Capt), J Murphy, A Burns, J Ivory Lenihan, I Hurley C. Doncel. Under 12 Hurling. On April 18th, Dr Crokes hosted the third in a series of County hurling blitzes. There were teams from Kenmare, Kilgarvan, Crotta, Laune Rangers, Duagh and Dr Crokes. Each team had three games and it was all ran off very well. Our under 12 hurlers gave a great account of themselves and won all three of their games. In the first game against Crotta, the hurling was tight and intense and there was nothing between the sides. Miceál Burns was playing a captain's part for Crokes and was well assisted by Shane Lyne in goals, Aaron Murphy and Gavin White in defence and Jack Lenihan and Mark O'Shea in the forwards. Crokes lead by a point at the break and in the second half, Micéal Burns got the decisive goal to put Crokes on the road to victory. The second game against Kenmare was not as tight but it still called for a great effort and Chris Dunce and Michael Owen Buckley were strong in defence. Up front, Darren O'Doherty got a good goal and Billy Courtney added another. In the second half, Mark Hartnett and Fergal O'Donoghue tormented the defence and it paid off with some points. Crokes ran out deserving winners by a 5-point margin. In the final game against Kilgarvan, we got a stern test and thanks to a great team effort, the victory came our way. The heroes in defence included Denis Fleming, Miceal Burns and Jack Murphy and further afield Lauren McCarthy, Oscar O'Connor and Chris Doncel lead the way. A good day’s work. The final blitz of this series takes place in Fitzgerald Stadium of Friday May 2nd at 6.00pm. Please support your team. Team: - S Lyne, J Murphy, A Murphy Fleming White Doncel, M O Buckley Burns Lenihan, M O'Shea, L McCarthy O'Connor, F O'Donoghue, D O’Doherty, M Hartnett, B Courtney. Our U12 teams had mixed fortunes last weekend. The Black team made the long trip to An Gaeltacht and in gale force conditions; we never really got into this game. Playing against the wind in the first half, we struggled to find our game; we failed to use possession well and were punished for our lack lustre-opening half. At half time we trailed by 13 pts. In the second half, we did up our game and kicked some good points, but it was not to be enough. We ended up loosing by 6 points on a score of 2-12 to 1-10. Next week this team plays Dingle at home on Sunday at 7 o'clock. Training Tuesday and Thursday at 4.30 Our Amber team lined out against Listowel, who on the start of the 2nd half failed to have the required amount of players on the field, so Crokes were awarded the game. We did however play on, lending some of our boys to the opposition. So all could have a game. Amber team have no game next weekend. Training Saturday morning at 12.30. PARTYNITE Again we along with our neighbours Spa & Legion will be organising this event on May 23rd as the last event was a huge success. We are also trying to add a foam party into this great night out, again it is 15 - 17 year olds age limit. Further information next week. LOTTO there was no winner of the Jackpot of €6,900 on Sunday April 27th. Numbers drawn were 3,7,16,19. 16 patrons matched 3 numbers each receiving €35. LEAGUE Kilcummin 0-03 Dr. Crokes 2-19. We maintained our 100% record in the 2008 co. league with a devasting win over Kilcummin on Sunday last. Playing with wonderful composure, we dominated in all areas and lead at the break 1-08 to 0-00. On the resumption, we continued to pile the pressure on our opponents and ran out the most comfortable of winners. Team Kieran Cremin, Keith McMahon, Luke Quinn, Michael Moloney, Batt Moriarty, Eanna Kavanagh, Gavin Tucker, Ambrose O’Donovan (0-01), Johnny Buckley (0-02), James Fleming, Shane Doolan (1-02) Brian Looney, Kieran 0`Leary (1-02), Colm Cooper(Capt.)(0-08), Jamie Doolan (0-04). Subs; Edmund O`Sullivan, John Payne, Andrew Kenneally, Ian Howard, Mike O`Grady. MINOR CO. LEAGUE Kerin's O Rahilly's 0-11 Dr Crokes 2-05 played in Strand Road this was a great game of football. We played against a strong wind in the first half but we had a great deal of possession with the mid-field partnership of Daithi Casey and David O Leary outstanding. It must also be said, our backline played very well as a unit. Having said all that, we trailed at half time by six points to two. We hit a purple patch in the second half and an amazing goal by Daithi Casey drew the team’s level with fifteen minutes to go. Then the Rahilly's got on top and with about six minutes to go, went ahead by four points. Just when it looked like we were dead, buried, the ‘never say die’ attitude of this Crokes team kicked in and Timmy O’ Donoghue goaled, and left the minimum between the sides with time almost up. We drew a foul and with the last kick of the game, Daithi Casey pointed to level the game. All in all, a very good result. Team: David Neeson (Capt.), Kieran Ward, P.J. Lawlor, Sean Coppinger, Niall O' Connell, Fionn Fitzgerald, Conor O' Neill, Daithi Casey (1-3), David O' Leary (0-1), Timmy O' Donohue (1-0), Jonathon Clarke, Chris Brady, Mark O' Donoghue, Shane O' Neill (0-1), Keith O' Leary, Joseph Keogh, James Barry, Kieran O' Sullivan, Anthony Keogh. COISTE NA OG U14 Co. League Dr Crokes 8-14 Spa 2-4. Dr. Crokes easily overcame neighbours Spa in the final round of the county league. Spa were minus a number of their better players due to injury and this accounts for the one sided score line. Crokes who had a full squad to pick from were quickly into their stride and took some early scores with the advantage of a strong wind.Gearoid Coughlan and Ryan O Connor took control in midfield and with Cian O Lionard mopping up a lot of loose ball in the half backline, the Crokes forwards saw a lot of the ball. The inside forward line of Tony Brosnan, Will Horan and Gavin O Shea all got on the score sheet. Niall O Riordan was having his best match of the campaign at centre forward enabling the Crokes to build up a half time lead of 3-12 to 0-1.Spa raised their game in the second half with Dan O Sullivan, Jack Cahill and Eoin O Riordan to the fore. Mac Dara Willis in the Crokes goal pulled off some fine saves but could nothing about the two goals scored by Dan O Sullivan. The Crokes full backline of Eric O Connor, Johnny Courtney and Michael Ryan withstood the early pressure and got stronger as the game went on. They were ably assisted by Aodhan Burns and Jason Lyne outside them as the Crokes got on top again. Paul Clifford and Laurence Byrnes played some lovely ball into the full forward line who accounted for 6-6 of the final score. The result sees Crokes qualifying for a play off to decide who goes through to the county semi finals and this is just reward for all the hard work put in by the lads over the campaign. Team : M. Willis, M. Ryan, J. Courtney, E. O` Connor, C. O` Lionard(1-1), A. Burns, J. Lyne, G. Coughlan(1-1), R. O` Connor(0-1), L. Byrnes, N. O` Riordan(0-5), P. Clifford, G. O` Shea(2-1), W. Horan, (Capt.),(2-3), T. Brosnan(2-2) Subs: K. Flynn, D. Galvin, M. O` Leary, C. Murphy, J. Fitzgearld U14 B Dr. Crokes B 2-14 Austin Stacks B 4-7 Dr. Crokes travelled to Tralee for this evenly contested game and were delighted to come out1point winners. Conditions were ideal and allowed good quality football to be played by both sides. Crokes raced into a 4-point lead thanks to a well-taken goal by Jason Brennan. Jeremiah Fitzgerald and Johnny O Leary were a constant threat on the left side of the attack with Johnny finishing as the games top scorer with 1-5.Stacks dominated before half time and some excellent saves by Dylan Sheehan kept Crokes in the game. Our backs defended well during this period with Killian Regan, Gary Murphy and Keith Flynn regularly getting blocks in to prevent scores. Conor Murphy at midfield was providing excellent ball into our attack and he went forward to kick the last point of the opening half to leave the teams level. On the resumption, a rising wind proved to be an advantage to Stacks but Crokes responded by bringing Michael Sheahan to full back where he went on to clear ball after ball. He received great support from Michael Casey and Risteard Clifford in defence. Our half-forward line of Niall O Connor, Brian O Doherty and Michael Burns carried the ball into the breeze with great effect and Burns found the space to kick two crucial points. Another by Sean Hurley gave us a 3-point lead with time almost up but to Stacks credit they battled right to the final whistle and were unlucky not to draw. Team : D. Sheehan, K. Regan, G. Murphy, M. Clifford, R. Clifford, K. Flynn, M. Burns, M. Sheahan, C. Murphy, J. Fitzgerald, B. O` Doherty, N. O` Connor, J. O` Leary.

Kilcummin got the winning goal late in the game and despite we having three opportunities to level matters we were unable to take our chances and went down by the minimum. One positive to take out of the game was the return to competitive action of Andrew Kenneally after a long injury. MINOR CO. LEAGUE Dr Crokes 2-25 Kenmare, Kilgarvin, Tousist 1- 10 This makes it 3 out of three in the County League and automatically puts us into the County League semi-final. The launching pad for this victory was the dominance at midfield of Daithi Casey and David O` Leary. Our defence was very good and in particular Conor O' Neill who had his best game of the year to date. Shane O Neill excellently finished a brilliantly worked goal halfway through the first half and we led at half time by 1-16 to 0-7 As the scoreline suggests we drove on in the second half but what was most pleasing was the style with which we played. All in all a great performance. TEAM; David Neeson (Capt) Kieran Ward, P.J. Lawlor, Sean Coppinger, Niall O Connell, Fionn Fitzgerald, Conor O Neill (0-1) Daithi Casey (0-6) David O Leary (0-3) Timmy O Donoghue, Johnathan Clarke (1-3) Chris Brady(0-2) Mark O Donoghue (0-1) Shane O Neill (1-8) Keith O Leary (0-1) Joseph Keogh. James Barry COISTE NA OG Crokes 7-2 Currow 3-13 It is often said that Goals win games – this certainly applied to our match with Currow on Monday night. In a game where the lead was exchanged on many occasions throughout the 60 minutes, our lads just about came out on the right side of this result. Both teams demonstrated their ability to get scores right from the start and those present at the game witnessed some fabulous point taking and goal scoring from both sides. Brian O’ Shea continues to get scores up front, his first half contribution was a well-taken point, and a goal, both from frees. Chris Lawlor made some great forward runs and on one of these scored a great point. Derek Maye on a temporary release from the backline also showed his ability to get goals. At half time Crokes led 3-2 to Currow’s 1-4. Currow upped their scoring significantly in the second half and kicked some magnificent points as well as a number of goals. However, our lads’ ability to score goals is what ultimately separated the two sides at the end of the game. Second half goals from Chris Brady, Neilie McEntaggart and a “hat trick” from Anthony Cronin (who scored two in the second half) came at vital times during the game - none more so than a goal from Neilie McEntaggart who came on with five minutes to go and scored a goal in the dying minutes of the game. U14 Co. League Dr. Crokes 9-8, Ardfert 8-10. Our under 14 footballers overcame Ardfert by 1 point in a high scoring game held in Ardfert on Wednesday night last. This was an action packed game with both teams contributing to a very enjoyable spectacle. We were slow to start and Ardfert held a 6 point lead before we recorded our first score. We had plenty of possession but at times took the wrong option when in front of goal. At the interval we were 7 points in arrears on a scoreline of 3-7 to 2-3.A goal for Ardfert just after half time left us with a mountain to climb but it was then that our lads really started to play as a team and battle for each other. Our midfield pairing of Gearoid Coughlan and Ryan O` Connor got the upper hand in the middle of the field and provided a good supply of quality ball into our fullforward line each of whom got vital scores which tied the game up with 10 minutes remaining. We pulled 4 points clear with time almost up but we still had some defending to do. A late goal for Ardfert left the minimum between the sides, we won the next kick out and retained possession to record a memorable victory. The result was just reward for all the hard work the lads have put in an they all played a role in turning this game in our favour. Team: M. Willis, M. Ryan, J. Courtney, E. O` Connor,J. Lyne, A. LEAGUE DIV 1 Dr. Crokes 2-11 Listowel Emmetts 0-07 Dr. Crokes gained their third victory in Div. 1 in the co. league with a hard-earned victory over Emmetts. A ten-point victory does not give a true reflection on the game as Listowel dominated proceedings for long periods in the opening half. Playing against a strong wind Listowel opened the scoring with a D. Sheehy point in the second minute the same player added another in the 5th. Kieran O’Leary opened the Crokes account in the 11th minute with a pointed free and followed up immediately with a second. N. Kenneally inched Listowel ahead with a pointed free in the 14th Crokes midfielder Johnny Buckley tied matters with a 45 in the 17th further points by O’Leary and Shane Doolan and N. Kenneally for Listowel left the half time score Dr. Crokes 0-05 Emmets0 -04. Crokes who had introduced Colm Cooper in the 22nd minute looked to have it all to do facing the wind for the second period but they gradually began to assert themselves on the game further points by O’Leary (2) and Jamie Doolan stretched their lead, Kenneally narrowed the gap in the 16th minute with a points free and then they will rue a golden opportunity when D.Griffin shot harmlessly wide with an open goal beckoning. Crokes stormed upfield and Shane Doolan finished to the net following good work by C. Cooper & J. Doolan. Crokes keeper Kieran Cremin was called on to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute turning the ball out for a 45 which Scanlon put over. Eoin Brosnan who was introduced a second half substitute finished to net after been put in possession by J. Doolan to close the game out. Further points by J. Fleming (3) brought the game to a conclusion. A good victory for Crokes but further improvement is needed to be at the business end of the forthcoming championship. Scores Crokes K. O’Leary 0-05, S. COISTE NA OG U14 Dr. Crokes 5-13 Duagh 3-8 we recorded our first win in the county league with a hard-earned victory over Duagh. For a change, the game was played in dry conditions that assisted both teams in playing good free flowing football. Crokes started the stronger and an early goal by Will Horan settled the team. Both teams kicked some good points and neither team dominated the play. With five minutes left in the half, we had pulled 6 points clear but two quick goals by Duagh left the game level at half time. Crokes knowing that a win was essential started the second half in determined fashion and competed for every ball. Our backs played as a unit and provided good ball to our forwards who started to get on top as the game went on. Four further goals by Will Horan, Tony Brosnan, Gavin O Shea and Niall O Riordan put us in a commanding position however to Duagh credit they battled right to the end of the game and every score had to be earned. This was a real team performance by Crokes with all players giving their best and playing for each other. Team: M. Willis, M. Ryan, J. Courtney, J. Lyne, M. O` Leary, C. O` Lionard(0-2), E. Our preparations were not helped by the fact that eight of our players had school matches earlier in the day. Considering this, we have to be happy with our performance. Gaeltacht were really up for the game and deserve credit for the high standard of their play. The result aside, the journey to and from West Kerry was enjoyable, we never realised we had so many talented singers. Our best players on the night were Eric O'Connor, Michael Ryan, Tony Brosnan, Will Horan and Jason Lyne. Ryan O'Connor and Diarmuid Galvin really excelled in the second half. Partynite disco OOH What a Night: On last Friday night we in
conjunction with the Legion and Spa Clubs hosted the Coca Cola party
night for boys and girls aged 15 - 17 and boy did they have a ball.
It proved to be a very successful night. All teenagers were
magnificently behaved and they deserve great credit for this, for so
long they were being labelled with unruly behaviour but they came
out on last Friday night to prove what we already knew that not all
can be labelled with this situation, we as clubs will continue to be
involved and hopefully along with all try to provide a healthy
atmosphere for everyone to enjoy a good night out. We would like to
thank a few people, Killarney Racecourse, Killarney Gardai, Order of
Malta, Coca Cola, the security staff who were really on the ball,
attention to detail was magnificent, their work made the event run
so smooth. A lot of people worked so hard for this event to happen
no-body made a cent from this event, all monies over and above will
be given to Killarney Order of Malta as agreed by the three clubs
involved. Again may we thank the teenagers who purchased tickets,
came along, had a great night and parents who dropped off and picked
up your kids. All these little things make events like this
possible, so if you want this to continue, e-mail or contact the
clubs involved, let us know your views.

Dr. Crokes gained another brace of points on Sunday last with a 4-point victory away to Desmonds in round two. Fielding a much-changed side from the opening game due mainly to the unavailability of the Kerry U21 panel members it was a tremendous display by the Dr. Crokes side. Leading at the break 1-04 to 0-03 our goal coming from the penalty spot expertly struck by Shane Doolan. Our midfielders Eoin Brosnan & Ambrose O’Donovan were the architects of this victory completely dominating proceedings and providing our forward line with ample supply of quality ball. Minor player Daithi Casey making his co. league-starting debut was a revelation and scored six points, Shane Doolan in particular and James Fleming had good games. Our defence as a unit were excellent with Luke Quinn, Eanna Kavanagh, and Bryan McMahon outstanding. Team K. Cremin, J. Payne, L. Quinn, E. Kavanagh, B. Moriarty, B. McMahon, G. Tucker, E. Brosnan(0-01), A. O’Donovan, I. Howard, S. Doolan (1-01), E. O`Sullivan, M.O`Grady (0-01), J. Fleming (0-01), D. Casey (0-06). Subs; J. Jones (0-01), D.Galvin. COISTE NA OG East Kerry U16 Rathmore 5-7 Dr. Crokes 2-6 Played on Bank holiday Monday in poor weather conditions, our players were right in this game well into the second half when a few well taken goals by our opponents put the result beyond our reach. However, our best period of the game was the last quarter when instead of dropping their heads, our players upped their efforts and scored 2-3 with little reply. A number of very fine saves by our cúl báire Ryan Patten kept the scores tight until ten minutes into the second half when our defence was breached three times in quick succession. Best on the day were Gordon Buckley, Michael Beckett and Mark Egan in defence while Chris Lawlor and Conor Magill kept up the work rate in midfield right to the end. Chris Brady (2-1) again proved himself the goal getter. Lots of good work also from Bryan O' Shea, Neily McEntaggart and Robert Watson in the forward line. Cian O' Neill worked hard at both ends of the field throughout and his bravery in front of goal led to a penalty for Crokes in the second half. U14 County League : Kerins O` Rahillys 3-16, Dr. Crokes 3-8. Kerins O` Rahillys proved the stronger team in the opening round of the county league played at Lewis road. Dr. Crokes were the quicker to settle and raced into a 4 point lead thanks to a goal scored by Gearoid Coughlan. The Crokes played some great football in the opening 20 minutes and went in at the break leading by 7 points on a scoreline of 2-5 to 0-4. On the resumption, Rahillys took total control of the game and dominated in all sectors for the first 15 minutes. They got some great scores and amassed a lead that Crokes were unable to pull back. To our lads credit they battled right to the end and two shots on goal struck the crossbar and came back into play.Rahillys deserved their victory and the game left us with plenty to work on. Best on the night were Paul Clifford, Aodhan Burns, Gearoid Coughlan and Gavin O Shea. Team; P. Clifford, J. Lyne, J. Courtney, E. O` Connor, C. O` Lionard, A. Burns, M. O ` Leary, R. O` Connor, G. Coughlan, N. Ashe, N. O` Riordan, L. Burns, G. O` Shea, On Saturday last our u13 team participated in the Kerins O’Rahillys Annual Blitz. Teams took part from Kerry, Cork, Limerick and Clare. We were in a group consisting of Fermoy, Ardfert, Na Gaeil, Bishopstown and Clonakilty. We played some good football throughout the day winning three and losing two games. We reached the final of the plate where we played Abbeyfeale winning by 2 points. Great credit is due to these young players, conditions were atrocious with rain, hail, wind and heavy pitches did not lead to pretty football but overall it was nice to have some success and we won the plate for the second year in succession. Johnny O`Leary had the pleasure of lifting the plate for the second occasion and he could do the treble as he is underage again next year. Team mentors Tommy Brosnan & Seamie doc would like to thank O’Rahillys for making them very welcome. Also our players for their excellent behaviour. Panel; J. O’Leary, D. Brosnan, G. Murphy, M. Casey, D.O`Sullivan, L.Byrnes, M. de Willis, K. Regan, D. Sheehan, R. OConnor, D. O`Doherty, T. Brosnan, N. O`Connor, S. Lyne, J. Fitzgerald, S. Hurley.
