Minor East Kerry s/final  Rathmore 0-7 Dr.Crokes 0-14

We are through to another Minor Final virtue of the fact we played a magnificent final 20 minutes. Played in Rathmore it took us awhile to settle. Rathmore were two points up after ten minutes. We were back on level terms after 20 minutes with points from Chris Brady and Daithi Casey. The teams went in at half time with our lads leading 0-04 to 0-03. Rathmore started the second half as they did the first going two points clear 0-06 to 0-04. Having said all that the true character of this team kicked in and driven on at mid-field by Daithi Casey and David O Leary we never looked back and got the next nine unanswered points. It was truly a joy to watch and every player must take credit for this superb victory.

We now play Firies in the final on the weekend of December 13th.

TEAM; David Neeson, Sean Coppinger, P.J Lawler, Niall O Connell, Kieran Ward, Fionn Fitzgerald, Conor O Neill, Daithi Casey (0-04)(Capt.), David O Leary, Robert Watson(0-01), Keith O Leary(0-03), Timmy O Donoghue, Chris Brady(0-03), Jonathon Clarke(0-01), Gordon Buckley, Shane O Neill(0-02), Joseph Keogh, Mark O Donoghue, James Barry, Stephen Brosnan.

COISTE NA OG The first in our winter series of Hurling Promotion Nights took  place in the clubhouseon Friday November 28th. It was resounding success thanks to all the children, parents, hurlers and former hurlers that  attended .

A big thanks to our three special guests Ben O'Connor , Ronan Curran and our own Seanie O'Shea

The evening started with Ben O'Connor giving  a training session to a large number of our U8 and U10 hurlers, both boys and girls and that  was very enjoyable for all.

Our three inter county stars  Ben O'Connor ,Seanie O'Shea and  Ronan Curran  gave inspiring talks on the game, their experience on training and the skills involved and some excerpts from recent Munster finals were shown on the big screen.

The main theme of  all the speakers was that we should be constantly playing hurling between  each  training session. Our three guests gave a great insight into the level of commitment required, the need to be attentive to the coaches  and they also spoke of the friendships they have built up in hurling.

Encouragement from parents and coaches is vital for juvenile success. The question and answer sessions was interesting and  informative for all.

Lots of autographs  were obtained and there was draw amongst all juvenile hurlers present for signed hurleys, sliothars and a helmet. This event has generated a very positive interest in hurling within the club and we are sure that this will be built upon in the future. We are planning on holding similar events in the future and we would like to thank all those who helped in any way in organising this event.

COISTE NA OG Christmas Craic Partynite is back in town on Friday December 5th.  Doors open at 8.30 and will finish at 11.30.  Because of the overwhelming success of this night for our 15 - 17 year olds, it is important not to take our eye off the ball and continue to facilitate the well behaved young people, we would urge all parents to drop off and pick up your sons and daughters at the venue as they are your responsibility while they are off the grounds of the racecourse.
The continued success of this venture by Dr. Crokes, Legion and Spa relies on the smooth running of the event and we would like it to stay this way.  So get your tickets early.  Tickets will be on sale in the schools as per usual.  No Ticket No Entry!
Tickets will NOT be on sale on the night.
Our Bord Na nOg AGM will be taking place on Friday December 12th at 7 o'clock in the Clubhouse.  All parents, guardians, existing coaches and anybody who would like to get involved should attend this meeting.  This is a very important meeting, so note it in your diary, and attend.  The meeting will last one hour at max.
