U13 East Kerry Final. On Tuesday last, we travelled to our near
neighbours, Legion, to play the East Kerry U13 Final, as a neutral

CAR DRAW sales have been progressing satisfactorily over the last few months, we now urge members to make a huge effort over the remaining months to make this promotion a success. 17/09/08 O`SULLIVAN CUP Dr. Crokes 1-10 Kilcummin 1-13. We failed to overcome the challenge of Kilcummin in this O`Sullivan Cup tie on Sunday last. Whilst we had plenty of possession, we failed to capitalize and duly paid the prize. David Moloney, Mike O`Grady, Kevin Smyth and Barra O’Connell were our best performers on the day. CHAMPIONSHIP Dr. Crokes 0-04 Austin Stacks 0-11. missing five of the regular starting xv we were no match for our opponents in this 3rd tie of the minor championship. LADIES FOOTBALL On Friday night last the Dr Crokes girls played Nagaeil in the Junior County final in Farrenfore. The girls took to the field in appalling weather conditions but it wasn’t to be out night the girls gave it their all with Jonne Spillane in the back line making some lovely runs up the pitch to our forwards Laura Buckley and Amanda Brosnan. Well down at half-time the girls came out with a new determination and brought the score back till we where level. We where award a plenty and Laura Buckley stepped up but it was saved by the goalie but this seemed to spur the girls and with a fine point for Amanda we where soon up a point. Disaster struck with one minute to go NaGael kick the ball which looked like it was going wide but dipped into the top of the net deceiving keeper Marie Cahillane we were beaten on a score line of 3.12. to 3.10. But this young team played with heart and never gave up, the future looks bright.The girls play Ballyduff in the County League on Sunday 14th We wish them all the best in that final. Team. This team had a lot of Crokes girls on the starting 15.Marie Cahalline was solid in goals with Katie Gleeson playing a superb game at full-back. Man of the match our own Lynn Jones was out standing. Mariead Finnegan the captain led her team superbly. This team is trained by James Fleming we wish them well in the Munster club championship. The Crokes girls on the East Kerry team where Marie Cahillane, Katie Gleeson, Lynn Jones, Caoimhe Wallis, Mariead Finnegan ,Amanda Bronson, Joanne Spillane,Rheanna O Shea, Laura Maloney, Sandra Backlett,Edel O Carroll, Kerrie Beckett. The Under girls team are now 4 for 4 after wining against Firis on Sunday night. They have also beaten Miltown, Kerins O Rahillys and Rathmore.This team are playing very well with some excellent goalkeeping from young Katie Cronin. Laura Moloney is superb in the half-back line .With Megan Buckley and Megan Kiely playing well in the middle of the field. Rebecca Galvin ,Ciara O Shea and Blaitin Cronin take their scores at the right always keeping us in the games. This is also a very young team with some of the under 14 like Ashling Hartnett, Amy Donvan, and Jessica Edwards playing well. The girls now play Castlegorory on Tuesday evening this team is also unbeaten in the league so it should be a good game. We wish to thank all the Coaches, the Events Committee and the Camp co-ordinators without whose continuous commitment it would not have been such an overwhelming success. Special mention to Kerry manager Pat O`Shea, Senior player Eoin Brosnan and Minors Fionn Fitzgerald & Daithi Casey who attended on the final day. Under age sessions for U6, 8, 10`s boys and girls resume this Saturday morning 6th September @10.45 am. Hurling session commences at 9.15am. We will host Kerins O` Rahilly's U8 & U10 teams also on that day. Looking forward to seeing you all. EAST KERRY U14 FINAL Our U14`s had a comfortable win over Fossa in the East Kerry championship final played in Listry on Monday evening. Crokes were the quicker to settle and scored 2 early goals which gave a lead that we never looked like relinquishing. Our lads confidence grew as the game went on and we played some of our best football of the year. The team made excellent use of possession and the scoring was of a high quality. The result was just reward for this group of players who have put in a lot of effort over the course of a long season which began in February. Fossa to their credit never gave up and got stronger as the game wore on. Marie Falvey presented the trophy on behalf of the East Kerry board to our captain Will Horan after the game.Team : M.
