After doing very well in the preliminary rounds we
were given division 1 status. We are at the moment
finding life difficult and have suffered defeats to
Glenflesk, Spa and Laune Rangers. I think we are well
capable of holding our own in this Division and look
forward to a few wins in our remaining games
Round 4 County League--- Dr
Crokes 3-6 -- Kerins O'Rahillys 2-9 (Played on
Sunday 2nd July at Lewis Road)
In an outstanding game we forced a draw with O'
Rahilly's by virtue of a last minute goal by Gavin
O'Shea.We were down five points at the interval but we
made a great comeback with goals by Niall O'Riordan and
Will Horan. Our last minute goal gave us equality.
Our best performers were Keith Flynn and
Diarmuid Galvin in defence, Niall O'Riordan and Gearoid
Coughlan at midfield and Gavin O'Shea and Will Horan in
attack.
Round 3 County League -- Dr
Crokes 4-4 ----- Laune Rangers 4-10 (Played
in Lewis Road on the 25/06/2006) This was a very
entertaining game, both teams being very committed.We
had the better of the exchanges in the first half and
led at half time by two points thanks to three goals by
Laurence Byrnes. Two goals by our opponents in the first
ten minutes of the second half was a set back we
never recovered from as we found it hard to breach the
Laune Rangers defence. Our best players on the
night were Cian O'Lionaird, Michael O'Leary, Will Horan
and Mike Sexton. Panel; Paul Clifford,
