U16 County League Match Reports
   Round 1---------- Dr Crokes 2-11   ------ Beaufort 0-12 --Played in Beaufort on 28-06-2006.

  In the first half of this game it looked as if we were going to coast to victory. We led at the interval by six points after having the most of the play. Our opponents had us on the back foot throughout most of the second half. The defining moment of the game came five minutes from the end when our goalkeeper David Neeson saved a well struck penalty. We had a point a few minutes later for a five point win.

Round 2 -------Austin Stacks  3-13 ---- Dr Crokes 1-7 (Played in Tralee on 5/07/2006).

Despite the twelve point deficit our lads did not perform badly. Austin Stacks are a very strong skilful team who will take some beating in the competition. We missed a penalty in the first half and they scored one to give them an interval lead of 2-8 to 0-4. We more than held our own in the second half, they scoring 1-5 to our 1-3.

Round 3-------- Dr Crokes  3-14  ----------- Ballymac 0-5

We were always in control in this game against Ballymac. Our opponents had some very good players and made us fight hard for our scores.Features of our display were a fine performance at left half back by Alex O'Sullivan and a scoring tally of 1-5 by number fifteen Keith O'Leary.

           Round 4 -----------------Dr Crokes  4-16 -------------Waterville/Dromid  4-4. (Played in Lewis Road on Sunday July 23rd at 7-30)

   Despite the one sided look on the scoreboard this was far from an easy victory for us.Our South Kerry rivals were well in this game up to the threequarter stage but we finished by far the stronger and the victory ensured qualification for us to the semi-final stages.

 The highlights from our point of view were an outstanding centre half back display by David O'Leary, three great first half points by Kieran O'Sullivan and a top scoring tally of 3-3 by full forward Mark O'Donoghue.

   Semi- Final -------- Dr Crokes 1-7  -------- Kerins O'Rahillys 1-13.(Played in Castleisland on Wed August 2nd)

 A much stronger O'Rahillys team proved too good for us in this County semi-final. This is not to say that we did not fight to the end. At one stage in the second half we got within four points of our opponents but on the night they were better able to take their scores and run out worthy winners.
