Our Under 16
squad can be very proud of their performance in
last Saturday's East Kerry final played in the
Dr. Croke's Pitch. Chris Brady gave the team the
dream start with a magnificent goal. Another
three points were tacked on by Keith O' Leary
and Alex O' Sullivan before the break. However,
lady luck was not to shine on the
team throughout the day and that let to Dr.
Crokes conceding a goal and missing a few great
goal chances in the first half. Crokes trailed
at half time by 1-7 to 1-3. Kilcummin piled on
the pressure and led by 9 points mid way through
the second half at which point this group of
players showed their true worth. Two more
splendid goals by Chris Brady as well as a Brian
O' Shea point and Keith O' Leary point cut the
margin to 3 points with time running out. A few
more missed goal chances and lots of effort and
determination was how the day ended for this
battling group of players. Better days will lie
ahead for these players as they continue to
develop!
We witnessed a
great team performance on the day as well as
a number of fabulous individual displays from,
in particular, Chris Brady, P.J. Lawlor and
Killian Fitzgerald

Back to winning ways
against a gneeveguilla team that never gave up
the fight. A great team performance with skill
and determination which brought the game to
their opponents from the word go. A number of
fabulous individual displays from, in
particular, Gordon buckley and Joe keogh in the
backline from Timmy O' Donoghue and Eoin Clifton
in the middle of the field and from Chris Brady
in the forwards. All subs got a run and many
contributed to the final scoreline. We await the
outcome of the matches on the other side of the
draw to see who emerges as our opponents in the
final.
