Club Notes Week 5 2023   06/02/2023

East Kerry Superleague Dr. Crokes 1-15 Rathmore 0-10. On Saturday last we hosted our first game of 2023 with a fine win over Rathmore in the East Kerry Superleague. We lined out with a young team who played a very defensive first half. Our goal scorer, Mikey Casey, found the back of the net in the 8th minute of play after intercepting a poor Rathmore kick out. Rathmore had their own goal chance just 5 minutes later when a high ball was kicked in to the square and subsequently cleared by Shay O’Meara in the Crokes goal. The second half of the game saw a more experienced team introduced with Daithi Casey, David Shaw, Sean Coppinger and Bryan O’Shea coming on throughout the half. We finished our first game of the season with a positive 8 point win over the All-Ireland Intermediate Champions. We now play Glenflesk at 8pm on Friday night in Lewis Road.
