SFL Div 1 Dr. Crokes 1-14 Gneeveguilla 0-07. The seniors travelled to Gneeveguilla on Saturday and came away with an impressive 10 point win. Playing into the breeze it took a while to get to grips with pitch conditions but David Shaw with 2 frees and 1 from play and 2 points from play from Harry Potts helped us in leading by 3 at half time. Dr. Crokes 0-06 Gneeveguilla 0-03. We dictated matters in the second half with Mark O Shea very strong at midfield kicking 2 great points and Billy Courtney also impressing scoring 4 points, 2 from play. At the other end our full back line of Brian Fitzgerald, Mark Fitzgerald and David Naughton were again outstanding with Brian O Shea in goals very composed. There were also impressive displays from Evan Looney and Mark Cooper. Alex Hennigan got a great individual goal at the end intercepting a pass before carrying it 50 yards and cooley slotting under the opposition keeper.We now face Spa at home next Saturday evening at 5pm.  LGFA Donal Curtin Cup Dr. Crokes 4-14 Spa 2-07. Our senior ladies had a great first outing in Division 1 of the Donal Curtin Cup against Spa away on Sunday morning. A super team performance with a special mention to Selina Thawiset-Collins and Saoirse O’Sullivan who made their senior debuts.  LGFA U14 Dr. Crokes 5-06 Austin Stacks B 1-02. Our U14 girls had a great start to their season with a win over Spa last Sunday in their first outing, which was followed up this Sunday with a second win against a yound Austin Stacks side. We dominated the first half with Sabra Hickey and Lauren Casey well on top in midfield and Keva McCarthy and Isobel Cremin racking up our scores. Stacks started better in the second half, but Saoirse O’Donoghue, Ali Lyne and Jessica McCrohan kept them at bay. Miren O’Connor and Amy Keating also showed well in attack. All in all a great team performance from all 17 girls that lined out.  Membership is now due for the 2023 year.
